My relationship with writing is a strong one. Much of my life has strongly revolved around and through writing. My father, a high school English teacher, and my mother, an elementary school teacher, have taught me the importance of writing from a young age. Writing is a hobby, writing is my passion, and writing is what I was best at in high school. Ironically, I started as a very bad reader and writer. My teachers early on helped me focus on and improve this. I believe the passion I have for writing now started when I was young and I could not write proficiently.
As I got older I continued to enjoy writing more and more. I enjoyed writing the most in high school and took multiple English electives that I believe improved and allowed me to hone my writing skills even further. As my school career went on I have gained more confidence in my writing and believe that my writing skills have significantly improved. As a writer I feel that I can convey my thoughts and ideas very well when writing, however, I believe I struggle when it comes to concluding essays or thoughts. In the past I have also struggled with run on sentences but I have improved on that in recent years.
