”Mushfaking” Discourses

Everyone as a writer and audience have used the method of ”mushfaking” as well as having certain discourses if you know it or not.

What are discourses and why are they important?

There are different kinds of discourses but before I identify what they are, I must explain what discourses are. Discourses are structured ways of thinking, speaking, writing about a certain topic. As I said we use discourses all the time. They surround the language, ideas, and frameworks that shape how we understand and discuss different kinds of subjects and topics. Discourses can also be influences of the way someone thinks and speak on certain topics. They can be found in texts, everyday conversations and more.

Different kinds of discourses

There many kinds of discourses such as: Primary Discourses-Secondary Discourses-Dominant Discourses-NonDominant Discourses These kinds of discourses can also be woven into: Primary Dominant Discourses-Primary NonDominant Discourses-Secondary Dominant Discourses- There is no such thing as a Secondary NonDominant

A PD- ”where one first acquires an identity and ways of interacting with others and is usually acquired in the home”

A PDD- ”the mastery of which, at a particular place and time, brings with it social goods such as money, prestige, and status.”

A PND- ”brings solidarity with a particular social network”

A SD- ” a non-home based social institutions”

A SDD- ”the mastery of which, at a particular place and time, brings with it the potential acquisition of social ”goods” (money, prestige, status.)

”Mushfaking”

Mushfaking- making something work as go or fake it until you make it.
