The Effect of Feedback While Revising

From personal experience, I can tell you that revising can often be annoying and even hard. Oftentimes the feedback we receive can be very helpful and other times we are given feedback where it might not even make sense and eventually leads us to getting overwhelmed. In addition, it could also just be straight up harsh feedback. But, I feel as though almost all feedback is helpful. Jillian Grauman emphasizes the importance of constructive feedback in the writing process. Feedback can help you understand certain parts where you struggle and it can help strengthen your writing skills.

When it comes down to receiving feedback, you need to have a positive and open mindset to be able to truly receive it. Like Grauman said, feedback is a powerful tool. I also feel that feedback is essential but, you can’t take it from just anyone. The feedback you receive should be received from someone who is literate or knows much about the topic. You should mainly focus on how it fits your own style and goals while staying true to yourself. Overall, Grauman’s article is a very helpful guide for writers. This article can help you feel more confident in using feedback to improve your skills.
