In Alexus Yeakel, “Failure is awesome”, she talks about how failure is important to writing and personal progress. Alexus Yeakel mentions that failures are learning experiences that can lead to better resilience. Meaning that we can not look at our failures as challenges. Yeakel’s own experiences help the reader to view their failures as necessary stages toward personal success. Yaekel shows failures as a good opportunity for development that lets individuals confidently and seriously follow their goals. In Haeleigh Cedervall, “Revision Is Not the Nail in the Coffin” she focuses on the importance of revision during the writing process. She believes that revision is not a sign of failure, but something every writer should take part in when writing. It allows for growth in one’s work. She clearly is hoping to encourage authors to see revision as a positive and necessary task of one’s work, which would ultimately lead to better writing.I agree with both authors. Yaekel and I both feel that failure is good. I believe that failure is necessary for success. And I think this because of my own personal experiences. I also agree with Cedervall’s writing; editing provides for better work, and I rewrite all of my papers on multiple occasions.
