Different Discourses and Mushfaking

Primary discourse is our sense of identity and is usually seen when we’re interacting in a casual setting. The community gains primary discourse by participating in different intimate solicitation groups. Interactions that are within your community and in social settings are called secondary discourses. This particular type of discourse uses many others to obtain the ability to reach out and be a part of social institutions. Another discourse that uses secondary is dominant discourses. This discourse shows that most of the time there is a particular time and place to be introduced and to be a part of social goods. In addition, non-dominant discourses also tend to deal with secondary discourses. Non-dominant discourses bring solidarity in those social goods and networks and that it is for those people. The word “mushfaking” is a slang term from prison which means making do with what you have because the real things that you need are not available. Being creative with the materials that you were given is exactly what many prisoners had to do and still do to this day. A perfect example of what a “mushfake” is when prisoners would make hats from underwear, and that hat would be considered that.
