How does rhetoric help us read?

Rhetoric helps us read because it shows us how to interpret texts and predict what is to come. Rhetorical reading is an active attempt at constructing a rhetorical context for the text as a way of making sense of it (pg.167-168). By reading in a rhetorical way is provides recognition and a better of understanding unlike when you read in a text-based way. So, the reader might use cues or their own understanding to conclude what they are reading about. This strategy also helps many readers connect the text and real-world discussions in a better way. By looking for information and facts it can make it easier for some people to absorb and better utilize what is being given to them. Furthermore, using a rhetorical strategy can help improve many things like discourse acts. So, by utilizing rhetoric it will allow readers and writers to improve on this important act. Many readers combine different strategies with rhetorical reading.
