Throughout my life I have always had a good relationship with writing. Ever since I was little, I have gravitated towards English and history rather than math and science. A strength I have when writing is that I can get highly creative with the topic that been given to me. I tend to go beyond the imaginable and make what I am writing about so compelling. Although a weakness I tend to have is if the topic I am writing about is not interesting to me I have difficulty completing it. When I am given a topic, usually about interesting books or historical events, I thrive but when it comes to Shakespeare, most times I fall short. When this happens, I loose all my thoughts and motivation for the assignment. Over the years I have tried to change this habit by looking for the things that I like about the topic rather than focusing on the things that I dislike. By changing my mindset, I have started to overcome those struggles. I am very hopeful that by the end of this semester I will learn to improve my writing in many ways and understand what aspects make a good writer.
