Is there such a thing as writing with the right words?

In what I read this week, the topic of the level of expression in ones writing and if it is truly necessary. Personally, I dislike when I have to write in a very monotone way because I end up getting bored and lose motivation in writing. My teachers used to always tell me that using certain first-person pronouns like “I” and “Me” can hurt my writing because it doesn’t make it professional. However, I believe that I should be writing the I see fit. As a writer I want the audience to know my exact intentions, I want them to know what I am feeling and what I am thinking. The way you write should be based on the circumstances that you’re in, if the situation calls for a serious tone in your writing, then that is what you should be writing with. When you make the writing more personalize it can feel like you are more engaged with it. A writing needs a sense of personality in order for the reader to also feel engaged in it. I know from personal experience; I wouldn’t like to read a book or article that is strictly monochrome and has no personality. All it will do is just bore me to death and that is not what you want to go for as a writer.
