My relationship with writing

I have always had a very good relationship with writing. As both a child and adult,  I enjoy creative writing. I have been writing stories since I was seven years old. Writing for me is a way to not only express yourself but to also reach others. Writing is a way for me to express the things that I wanted to see growing up, as a big part of my writing focuses on racial representation. I did not read a lot of books with characters that were the same race as me as child so my main purpose with my writing is to allow other people to see themselves within my stories. 

 Some strengths that I have when it comes to writing is both my creativity and word choice. I believe that I chose the appropriate word when I’m writing in most subjects. I also believe that I am creative when writing both fiction and nonfiction. In fiction I show my creativity through the plot and dialogue between characters. In nonfiction I show my creativity through word choice and paragraph structure. I want to improve my consistency. I tend to go off path with the points I make in my writing and I would like to improve on making sure I flesh out an idea fully before moving on to the next one.
