How can one make assert their identity in writing?

Not every piece of writing is the same. I know that sounds pretty obvious, but I can explain further. Writing is similar to the way people speak, as in the words we use and the form that we use them. For example, a college professor would usually speak very clear and formal which can translate in the things they write. But this brings the question, is there a correct way to sound in writing? This is what I have to say about it, I believe that we all have an identity in our writing, and we should stick to that identity. However, in some cases your identity can be seen as a misfit in certain writings, for example, if my identity comes off as unserious then while I am writing about a serious topic then the reader will not take any of my statements seriously and they will leave with little to no information. I still believe changing your identity in a writing will probably harder, your identity in writing is made up by things like your tone, diction, and the structure of your writing. There cannot be a correct way to write because it is all up to how the reader interprets your writing. I believe there isn’t a correct identity to have while writing.
