Discourse communities are all around.Everybody is and has been part of at least one discourse in their lifetime. It’s intriguing to recognize the range of Discourse communities. They can range from classes of a broad subject such as history to specific interest based groups like postal stamps. It is also interesting to know the different forms that Discourse communities come in like writing or speaking. It made me think of the different Discourse communities that I have been a part of. Every class I have taken, summer camps I have attended and even fandom groups that I have been a part of. These Discourse communities have affected the way we act and the way we communicate. It has formed our interests as well. The way each Discourse community acts has a big influence on our interests because of the experience of each one. For example, you take two math classes in two years. They are their own Discourse community but the way the first math class communicates or even the goals of it could make you dislike the subject as a whole. Whereas the second class could have a different goal and method of communication which can change your whole outlook on the subject.
