authority in writing

(I have no motivation left for college so if this doesn’t come out right, I don’t care anymore.) First things first to know what authority in writing is, it is a credibility of source’s that authors or level of authority an author has. That’s basically towards the of establishment they have a specific topic. This type of authority can have an effect on an author. In Penrose and Geisler novel they asked two people, Janet and Roger, who accompany each other in the same academic task involving philosophical ethics. They had them do a study of getting a tape recording and thinking out loud, which is similar to the research discovering your process of writing. Stated in the text, “we found rogers reading and writings behaviors to be consistent with views of knowledge as constructed. Roger seems to operate with an awareness that texts and knowledge claims are authored and negotiable. Janets approach was consistent with a more traditional information-transfer model in which texts are definite and unassailable.” They constructed views of their own authority. The type of authority you have can impact your writing style along with building trusts. When you establish your authority it gives the reader to be more likely to accept their claims and perspectives. Without authority no one would trust your claims and see it to be false. If you can’t believe in your own authority or at least be more confident in it when you’re writing, no one else will.
